sidenote...

I just lost another pair of shoes due to my cat peeing on them.
I just dont know what to do. I dont know why he's doing it, but I really cannot afford to keep buying new shoes.

*sigh*

I just asked my boyfriend's advice, because he is the cat-lover, but he's never experienced that problem. My best advice: Can you keep your shoes in boxes?

I'm sorry to hear about your shoes!

Ok, so one time a few years ago, I walked into my bedroom and my cat had peed directly in the middle of my bed. I was SOOO pissed off. So, I looked it up. Apparently, cats do this when they're really pissed off at someone (or VERY ill, which probably isn't the case in your situation, considering your cat has done this before and is seemingly healthy). They said that a cat can go as far as peeing on your specific side of the bed, if it's YOU they're mad at. They also pee on your shoes, and your laundry apparently. They say that if you pay extra postive attention to the cat, it can help.

It only happened the one time to me, and it was when i first met Mike and was back and forth between his place and mine....I just gave the kitty lotsa extra love and he never peed again.

Your poor shoes! Now you've lost shoes and boots!! Time to shower the kitty with looveeee! Seriously though, google it....!

My old cat (who is now my parent's cat) has a weird peeing habit like that. Pretty much anything new or foreign (so that includes guests's shoes) must be locked away in a closet to avoid getting peed on. It sucks, but maybe you just need to start locking up all the shoes??

That totally sucks though, I would cry if my cat wrecked any of my good shoes!

My mom's cat had problems with peeing too. He would pee on the floor right beside the clean litter box for no reason at all. After a while he quit.
It sucks that your cat is doing that. Maybe he does need more loving, or maybe take him to the vet to make sure he doesn't have a problem. Is he neutered? Maybe thats part of the problem as well -don't male cats spray if they aren't fixed?

I have a picky kitty. If my litter box is not clean to her standards she'll pee on my stuff. I've lost tons of books and paper work this way.
When we moved she got mad and pee'd in boxes of stuff.
They do it when you change things on them, ignore them as previous person stated.
Or even when they are really ill as well. Rule out the health issues. And then feed them with LOVE!

Cat - yea he's done it in our bed before. i was LIVID~!! at the time our bed was my biggest purchase ever and i was SO angry. he's no longer allowed on the bed, and we actually sleep with a matress cover... a waterproof one... JUST in case
thankfully the shoes (in both cases: boots & shoes) weren't 'good' shoes... but shoes none theless

jenn - he's definitely fixed. i almost wish he wasn't cuz then this would make sense lol

aimee - mine has done that a few times, but he's even done it shortly after i've cleaned the litter box. i tried ALL kinds of different litter also.

to all - this is THE most spoiled cat ever, and he gets showered with love! hahahah, i sure hope thats not it because other than carrying him everywhere i go, i dont know what else i can do to shower him with love hahahah lol
